Midkhat Kurmanov was born on August 2, 1959, in Sredny Santimir village (Novo-Malyklinsky district of Ulyanovsk region).

In 1982 graduated frem Kazan State University, speciality - jurisprudence. Doctor of law.

1982-1992 - worked in institutions of internal affairs.

1992-2004 - peoples deputy of the Republic of Tatarstan:

1992-1995 - member of the Permanent Commission for lawfulness, law and order, human rights and legal privileges of the Supreme Council of the Republic of Tatarstan;

1995-1999 - Deputy Chairman of the Committee for parliament supervision of the State Council of The Republic of Tatarstan;

1999-2004 - Chairman of the Permanent Commission for law, lawfulness, order and deputy ethics issues of the State Council of the Republic of Tatarstan;

Since May 2004 - Minister of Justice of the Republic of Tatarstan.

Since March 26, 2010 - Acting Minister of Justice of the Republic of Tatarstan.

Since April 22, 2010 - of Justice of the Republic of Tatarstan.
