Akhmetov Marat Gotovich - born June 16, 1954 in Khasanshaikh village of Arsky district of Tatarstan. Graduated from Kazan State Veterinary Institute with a degree in veterinary in 1976, Saratov Higher Party School in 1988.

In 1976, started career as veterinary of collective farm n.a. Chapaev in Baltasinsky district of the republic after graduating from the Veterinary Institute.

1978 - 1983 - chairman of collective farm "Alga" in the same district.

1983 - 1991 - Second, then First Party Secretary of Baltasinsky District Committee.

1991 - 1999 - head of administration of Baltasinsky district, chairman of Council of people`s deputies of Baltasinsky district.

Since May 26, 1999 - deputy Prime-Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan - Minister of Agriculture and Foodstuffs of the Republic of Tatarstan. Since March 26, 2010 - acting deputy Prime-Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan - Minister of Agriculture and Foodstuffs of the Republic of Tatarstan.

Since April 22, 2010 - deputy Prime-Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan - Minister of Agriculture and Foodstuffs of the Republic of Tatarstan.

Awarded by orders "Badge of Honour"(1983) and "Of Friendship"(1995); a medal «In memory of the 300 anniversary of St.-Petersburg» (2003), a medal «In memory of the 1000 anniversary of Kazan» (2005), a medal «For works on agriculture» (2007), the Winner of the State award of Republic Tatarstan in the field of a science and technicians (2000).
