Safarov Asgat Akhmetovich - born October 20, 1961 in Novy Shimber village of Arsky district of Tatarstan. Graduated from Kazan State University with a degree in law in 1984 and Academy of Federal Security Service in 1999.

1984 - 1987 - investigator, then - senior investigator of the Department of Internal Affairs in Sovetsky District of Kazan.

1987 - 1989 - senior expert of the Administrative Affairs Management Bodies of Council of Ministers of Tatarstan.

1989 - 1991 - instructor of administrative bodies of the Department of Executive Bodies of Tatarstan`s Council of Ministers.

1991 - 1995 - assistant of the President of the Republic of Tatarstan.

1995 - 1998 - chief of Security Service and the assistant of the President of the Republic of Tatarstan.

Since 1998 - Minister of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Tatarstan.

Awarded by the medal "For Courage at Service" (2001).
