International scientifically-practical conference "Muslim Education in Russia and abroad" will take place in Kazan
International scientifically-practical conference "Muslim Education in Russia and abroad" under aegis of Federation of the universities of the Islamic world (FUIW) will take place in Kazan from September 27 till September 30, 2009.
Director General of the Islamic Educational, Scientific And Cultural Organization (ISESCO) and Secretary General of FUIW dr.Abdulaziz Othman Altwaijri, heads of higher educational institutions of the Islamic world, Europe, Russia and the CIS countries will take part in the conference. During the conference it is planned to conclude agreements on cooperation between Russian islamic university, Tatar state university of humanities and education and ISESCO.
The forthcoming conference is ISESCO’s first event devoted to the higher Islamic education in the post-soviet space on such level. This conference testifies that ISESCO gives the leading role to the Republic of Tatarstan in coordination of efforts in the sphere of the higher Islamic education in Russia and the CIS.
Within the conference it is planned to discuss the system of Muslim education and possible ways of its development, the purpose and problems of the higher Islamic education in modern conditions. Conference will allow to reveal and discuss existing problems in the sphere of the higher Islamic education, besides it will promote development of the concept which is adequate to modern requirements and promote integration of the Islamic scientifically-theological heritage into modern system of higher education.
For data: Federation of the universities of the Islamic world was organized under aegis of the Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO) in 1987. The main purpose of the Federation is to support universities and higher educational institutions of the Islamic world. Its Secretary General is the head of ISESCO. FUIW involves 215 universities from countries of the Islamic world, Europe and CIS countries. The head office is located in Rabat, the Kingdom of Morocco. Russian islamic university is the only Russian higher educational institution which is included in FUIW.
